Who would’ve thought the director of Avatar used to drive trucks before? The trucking industry is a diverse field, with some truckers making it a lifelong career, while others use it as a stepping stone to other professions. From the driver’s seat to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, some celebrities used to have jobs in the trucking industry. Here are just a couple of stars who once had a part in trucking before their rise in fame.

Liam Neeson Was a Truck Driver

From Taken to Star Wars, Liam Neeson has graced the screens of many movies and, hopefully, many more to come. Before embarking on his acting career, one of his jobs was truck driving. That means in the film The Ice Road, Neeson underwent real-life truck driver training when playing Mike. It’s nice to see celebrities who have experienced a taste of the road before becoming famous.

Elvis Presley Drove Trucks

The “King of Rock and Roll,” better known to some as simply “The King,” had other jobs before shining behind the mic. One of those jobs The King had was driving a delivery truck for Crown Electric. It shows that trucking can become your career, or it can be a shorter-term job you keep until you find your calling. You won’t know until you try.

Chevy Chase Used to Be a Truck Driver

The star of National Lampoon and Saturday Night Live didn’t start his entertainment career without trying out a few other options. First med school, then behind the wheel of a semi-truck, Chase as part of the trucking industry before making us laugh on screen. In the movie Christmas Vacation, Clark Griswold gets his car stuck under a semi-truck delivering logs, which may have been a nod to Chase’s job as a truck driver.

Many celebrities used to have jobs in the trucking industry, and these were just some favorites. Consider becoming a truck driver, as it may lead to a long and fulfilling career. Or having a job as a truck driver will pay for life until it leads where you want to go. Whatever option ends up working out, taking the leap to try is the first step.
