3 Best Truck Stops: Colorado
3 Best Truck Stops: Colorado
Check out some of these truck stops the nest time you drive through Colorado.

On our journey down the alphabet to discover the best truck stops in each state, we’ve arrived at Colorado. The Centennial state may not have as many trucks as other states. With the I-25 and I-70 being popular trucking routes and highways in Colorado, there are still some chains and even some independent stops that may offer salvation during your next run. We found 3 truck stops in Colorado worth mentioning and marking on maps, for the next time you find yourself driving through Colorado.

1. Petro Johnson’s Corner

Off exit 254 on I-25 sits the Petro Travel Center on Johnson’s corner. What used to feature some of the best truck stop food, the famous Johnson’s Corner restaurant has closed and has been replaced by a Black Bear Diner.

Although still having amazing food and some of the best pancakes around, the giant cinnamon rolls will surely be missed. Check the convenience store because rumor has it they still carry some of the baked goods from the restaurant. The truck stop offers amenities like big rig parking, clean bathrooms, showers, and more.

2. Travel Centers of America (TA)

Colorado doesn’t have that many independent truck stops because most of the truck routes running through the state are located in the same area. There are some chain stops, however, like the TA chains that rate well, especially for specific locations. The travel center in Commerce City, Colorado, off the I-70, is a popular location as well as the one in Wheat Ridge.

Refuel with TA gas or diesel and check out some restaurant options like Burger King or Popeyes. Unwind in the game room or enjoy a hot shower while you wait for your truck to be serviced.

3. Phillips 66

Many Phillips 66 gas stations offer amenities for truckers, but the one off of exit 161 on the I-25 in Monument is a popular and highly rated one. The Phillips 66 in Monument doesn’t offer as much truck parking as the other stops on our list, but if you find a spot, you’ll be well off. The Rocket convenience store has everything you need to refuel yourself as well as your big rig.
