Give Thanks to Truckers this Thanksgiving
Give Thanks to Truckers this Thanksgiving
Show appreciation for truckers this holiday season.

Thanksgiving is a time for thanking the essential people in our lives, and truckers fall into their own category. We are taking time to thank truckers this season of giving because the holidays wouldn’t be what they are without them. If you’re a trucker, appreciate the praise because you deserve it. From delivering Thanksgiving meal goodies to stocking stores for Black Friday, truckers work overtime for the holidays, and there are plenty of ways to show appreciation.

Give Thanks to Truckers for Bringing the Goods

The holiday season is prime time for shopping, as Black Friday and Thanksgiving send flocks of people to stores. An average of 40 million turkeys are consumed each year on Thanksgiving, and all those birds need to be brought to the store for consumers to buy; that’s where truckers come in.
The turkeys aren’t the only thing keeping truckers busy this November. In 2023, an average of 200 million people shopped over the five days spanning from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. The shopping rush will make driving on Thanksgiving difficult, especially for truckers trying to make deliveries. Thank the drivers who fill the shopping shelves and extend that respect onto the road.

Send Thanks to Truckers on the Road

With so many deliveries required to fill the holiday consumer boom, many truckers will be on the road for Thanksgiving. If a trucker is missing for dinner this year, bring the greetings and love onto the road with them. Not everyone has what it takes to become a truck driver, and family time is something drivers sacrifice around the holidays.

SEND VIDEO GREETINGS TO TRUCKERS ON THE ROAD.

Connecting with truck drivers when they’re on the road will help fend away feelings of loneliness. A great way to do that is to record friends, family, and especially children giving thanks to the trucker in their lives. Send those videos to them, and they’ll have a piece of home stored on their phone they can play over as often as they want. Drivers can do the same for their families by sending videos back so they know you’re thinking of them on the road.

Truckers, Give Thanks to Yourselves

With so much work during these months, truck drivers stay busy, and it’s easy to have holidays like Thanksgiving pass by without notice. Although you might be working, observing a holiday in any way possible is essential to bring a slight sense of normalcy on the road. There are plenty of places to get a Thanksgiving meal, even at some truck stops. An adequately filled belly will help make it feel a little more like eating at home with your family. If you can have dinner at the same time as the family, with the help of technology, you can eat together, even if only virtually. Make a video call to them while eating, and spend time laughing and conversing together.

EAT TOGETHER ON A VIDEO CALL.

The holidays are a time for getting together and being thankful for what and who we have in life. Truck Drivers spend their holidays on the road sometimes, and finding ways to bring a piece of that with them makes a huge difference. Don’t let working on a holiday keep you from finding ways to make even a couple of memories.
