Trucking Road Highlights: Canada Sights
Trucking Road Highlights: Canada Sights
The Ambassador Bridge is a popular border crossing for truckers.

We’ve discussed plenty of sites to see while driving through US states; this time, we’re talking about sights to find when trucking takes you North across the border to Canada. Many truckers traverse roads in the US and some in our bordering countries, contributing to a solid supply chain. We’re helping find highlights for truckers who cross to Canada, often delivering loads, mainly in immediately bordering cities. Included are beneficial stops for truckers and leisure sights worth a stop if time permits.

Why Trucking Goes to Canada

Good relations with our bordering countries increase trade possibilities and strengthen our supply chains. Truckers often cross back-and-forth borders to strengthen these chains and ensure a smooth business run. The Ambassador Bridge in North America is the nation’s largest supply border crossing, connecting the US at Detroit, Michigan, to Ontario, Canada. Millions of dollars of goods cross the bridge daily, with truckers being the primary means of delivery. Many other border crossings, including in Washington State, will have drivers on international waters delivering goods.

Trucking Road Highlights: Ontario Sights

Since Ontario is one of the central locations for supply chain border crossings, we’ve looked up some places in the area that would benefit truckers dropping a load. Windsor, Ontario, is a little city across the river from Detroit, sitting at the end of Ambassador Bridge and the start of Canada. Windsor, known as Whiskey Town, has a lovely waterfront where you can relax at the beach after a long drive. There are beautiful parks for decompressing after border traffic and filling vitamin D.

Red Apple discount stores are everywhere in Canada and are great stops for snacks and last-minute items. Petro truck stops have multiple locations, some of which are available as soon as you cross the border.

Some truckers may pass through bustling Toronto.

Toronto is the largest city in Ontario, close to the Ambassador Bridge crossing. Some jobs may take you to Toronto, and being a prominent city means there’s more of everything available, i.e., truck parking, truck stops, etc. However, it also means more extensive crowds and traffic, so plan extra time when heading to Toronto.

Trucking Road Highlights: Vancouver Sights

Vancouver, Canada, is another frequented border for trade in the US. Truckers working in parts of the West Coast may deliver loads in Vancouver.

Vancouver, Canada, sits across the water from Washington.

Canada has beautiful nature, and Vancouver may seem like a bustling metropolis, but beautiful parks and nature excursions lurk just around the bend. We learned nature can be healing, and it’s essential to find time for it whenever possible. It may be difficult for truckers to find parking often, but some rest stops have parks or hiking trails, which may be worth the trouble to reap the benefits of destressing before hitting the road again. Petro Pass Truck Stop and Husky Truck Stop, which feature Husky House Restaurant, are great locations for truckers in Vancouver, BC.
