Healthy Meals For Truck Drivers
Healthy Meals For Truck Drivers

As much as you know about a healthy diet, it’s always good to keep some things, for example this very post, at hand. Before we suggest what, you should eat to stay healthy, please consider investing in appliances like a cooler, slow cooker, lunch box or microwave. This will make eating healthy food on the road much easier.

Breakfast

Try these healthy breakfast items:

Oatmeal

Fresh fruit

Low-fat yogurt

Cottage cheese

Whole-wheat toast with peanut butter

Hard-boiled eggs

Egg whites (available in cartons for easy cooking)

Protein/cereal bars

Prime Breakfast Tip: Healthy breakfast should be made up of protein, complex carbs, calcium, and healthy fats. You don’t want anything high in sugar as it will lead to a crash later.

Snacks

Fruit

Reduced-fat string cheese

Hummus and veggies (celery, broccoli, cucumber, and carrots)

Low-fat yogurt

Unsalted mixed nuts

Whole-grain crackers

Beef jerky

Popcorn

Lunch

Tomato and avocado sandwich (tasty things to add: basil or lettuce)

Turkey wrap: whole-wheat tortilla, turkey, romaine lettuce, low-fat cheese, and mustard

Grilled chicken salad with low fat dressing

Veggie or turkey burger (hold the mayo, ketchup, and cheese, please!)

Prime Lunch Tip: Swap out unhealthy sauces and spreads like mayonnaise for healthy, flavorful ones like mashed avocado, mustard, hummus, or pesto.

Dinner

Honey Garlic Chicken and Veggies. This is the easiest one pot recipe ever. Hardly takes any effort at all.

Beef Stew makes a great dinner. You can enjoy it year-round.

Whole Roasted Chicken in your slow cooker is a recipe every trucker should try. It’s delicious and can keep you fuller for longer!

Ground Beef and Potatoes are amazing and will only take around 15 minutes to prepare!

Desserts

Fat free ice cream or sorbet

Frozen grapes or strawberries

Frozen yogurt

Frozen fruit bars/ice pops

Bon appétit! Enjoy your meal!
